About Miranda Esparza

My name is Miranda Esparza and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with over 7 years experience in the mental health field. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings ranging from crisis hotlines, juvenile hall, in home services, residential, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient settings. I have a Masters degree in Marriage Family Therapy from Santa Clara University.

In addition to my wide range in experience, I am a therapist because I truly want to help. If you are reading this, that probably means you are thinking about entering therapy. I commend your bravery. It is not easy to ask for help. Therapy is a vulnerable place to be and because of that, I strive to create an environment where you feel safe, heard and accepted. I take a holistic approach, combining the importance of ones childhood and upbringing, quality of relationships, relationship with oneself and taking a deep dive into ones thoughts and behaviors. I also fundamentally believe in the human ability to change and grow. Everything I have described is a combination of psychodynamic theory, person-centered theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Some common concerns that I can help to address include the following:

  •          Child Therapy

  •          Adolescent therapy

  •          Adult therapy

  •          Family therapy

  •          Acute and Chronic illnesses

  •          Eating Disorders

  •          Grief and loss

  •          Anxiety

  •          Depression

  •          Trauma

  •          Stress management

  •          Relationship issues
